The Gen Ann Harris Society

In honor of Genevieve Ann Harris, Class of 1945, TMU’s longest consecutive giving donor, Thomas More University is pleased to introduce a new annual giving society dedicated to those loyal supporters who have given continuously, at any level, for three or more consecutive years.

Gen Ann, a retired teacher and former head of the foreign language department at Western Hills High School, graduated from LaSalette Academy in Covington, Ky. and earned her B.A. from Villa Madonna College and her M.Ed. from Xavier University. In 1998, Gen Ann received the TMU Alumni Association Award for “Thomas More University Service,” awarded to an alumnus or friend of the University who has provided continued service to the University. Gen Ann has served as a dedicated volunteer with the Diocese of Covington and the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, as well as teaching English as a second language for Travelers Aid International. She is a talented oil painter, has traveled throughout the world and enjoys collecting art.

In September 2012, Gen Ann was honored at the annual President’s Society Dinner for her longstanding commitment to the University. Recognizing Gen Ann’s lifetime of giving, the University desired to acknowledge the many alumni and friends who have given consecutively, year after year and established the Gen Ann Harris Society in her honor. Loyal annual support has a significant impact on Thomas More University students, faculty and staff; supporting a variety of initiatives that fulfill the mission of the University.

Inaugural membership of the Gen Ann Harris Society included donors who have made commitments to Thomas More University in at least each of the three academic years: 2020-2021, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 and prior.
