KEES Renewal Requirements

Renewal Eligibility for Students who are Enrolling as First Time First Year Students

Thomas More University is required to report to KHEAA your “on track to graduate” status (SB 75 – KEES -Sponsored by Senator Ken Winters (R) during the 2008 Kentucky General Assembly) in order to calculate your renewal eligibility from year to year.

Thomas More University defines “on track to graduate” as:

  • Completed 24 cumulative hours after the first year (enrollment in two Fall/Spring semesters)
  • Completed 57 cumulative hours after the second year (enrollment in four Fall/Spring semesters)
  • Completed 90 cumulative hours after the third year (enrollment in six Fall/Spring semesters)

KHEAA renewal requirements for students first enrolling after 2009 – 2010 are:

End of student’s first year

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher = full renewal for the following year.
  • Cumulative GPA less than 2.50 = loss of award for the following year.

End of student’s second and subsequent year

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher = full renewal for the following year.
  • Cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 AND “on track to graduate” = full renewal for the following year.
  • Cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 AND NOT “on track to graduate” BUT full-time = 50% reduction in award amount for the following year.
  • Cumulative GPA less than 3.0 AND NOT “on track to graduate” AND less than full time = loss of award for the next year.
