Management Information Systems

A management information systems major at Thomas More University will prepare students to be technology professionals and leaders with the skills to drive innovation in their future businesses.

Thomas More offers small classes taught by faculty with extensive experience in the IT industry.

Students studying management information systems will be learning to program, design databases, and build web applications to solve technical problems that help companies be the innovative leaders of tomorrow.

Faculty teaching in this program consist of educators with proven experience in the IT field. Full time faculty have over 30 years of industry experience working in Software Development, Web Development, Networking, Solution Implementation, and IT Consulting. These faculty are assisted by currently practicing IT professionals who adjunct part time at Thomas More.

Current computer information systems alumni are leading IT services for Great American Insurance, Frutarom, Projetech, Booz Allen Hamilton, as well as numerous other companies.

Students will have experiential learning opportunities including internships and a senior capstone project.

Students planning to earn a bachelor’s degree in MIS or CIS with an ACT of 23 or higher or an SAT of 1060 or higher and a high school GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in a college prep curriculum and encouraged to apply for a full-tuition scholarship. Traditional College of Business students majoring in Business Administration, Accountancy, or Management Information Systems can earn graduate credit for six MBA courses taken in their senior year of college. Completing the six graduate courses enables the students to earn their bachelor’s degree in four years and their Master of Business Administration degree in the fifth year.
