Thomas More College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position as Assistant Professor and Program Director for the undergraduate LAWS program.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The expected starting date is August 1, 2018, but could be as early as June 1.  A JD from a regionally accredited institution and relevant work experience in the legal profession are preferred; interdisciplinary, higher-education teaching experience in a liberal arts environment is desired.

The candidate will be responsible for undergraduate instruction, teaching courses in the LAWS program and cooperating with relevant departments in the Humanities Division to better showcase the value of liberal arts for those entering legal professions.  Standard teaching load is 4 courses per semester.  Recruiting responsibilities include promoting the LAWS program to high schools and assisting the Office of Admission in recruiting for the program.

Also expected is developing and implementing forward-thinking plans for growth of the program. The candidate will design curriculum for traditional and adult students using various modes of delivery and will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the legal community to support internship programs, project collaborations, and mentoring programs in the community.

All faculty members advise students, remain current on topics and practices related to the discipline, contribute to the campus community in various ways and engage in scholarly work.
