Thomas More College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor in the Department of Information Systems. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The expected starting date is August 1, 2018.
Candidates must hold a PhD in management information systems, computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates who currently hold a MS in one of these fields and are ABD in their PhD program may also be considered. Areas of interest include decision science, social computing, human-computer interaction, and information security, but highly qualified candidates in other areas are encouraged to apply. Several years of prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is expected, and candidates with prior experience in undergraduate research are preferred.
The successful candidate is responsible for undergraduate instruction (typically four courses per semester). Information Science faculty at Thomas More are expected to teach at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum and in multiple subject areas within information systems. The candidate will design curriculum for traditional and adult students using various modes of delivery. Recruiting responsibilities include promoting the MIS program to high schools and assisting the Office of Admission in recruiting for the program.
All faculty members advise students, remain current on topics and practices related to the discipline, contribute to the campus community in various ways, and engage in scholarly work.
