 Basic Purpose

To assist in the administrative functions of the undergraduate and graduate programs within TAP.  This includes being the senior academic advisor for TAP students. 

Core Competencies

Strong communication skills are required with the ability to listen and remain neutral when dealing with student issues.   The Assistant Director must be committed to customer service excellence.  Excellent computer skills are required.  Position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. The Assistant Director must be an advocate for Adult and Graduate Education and for Thomas More’s mission.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Advise adult students with emphasis on accelerated programs, especially BBA, AES, ELS, RN-BSN
  2. Oversee and share responsibility with staff for accelerated program orientations
  3. Serve as liaison among students, faculty and administration
  4. Evaluate accelerated degree program transcripts
  5. Plan and coordinate all information given to accelerated degree students through electronic and printed materials
  6. Review and monitor study group and course evaluations
  7. Coordinate mediation of study group issues with Business Department Chair
  8. Supervise Crestview Hills and Blue Ash staff
  9. Assist the Director and Associate VP of Adult and Graduate Education with new program creation
  10. Coordinate a three year liberal arts core schedule with academic departments
  11. Create class schedules with enrollment staff, faculty and registrar
  12. Serve as a non-voting member of Academic Affairs
  13. Serve as a member of the Academic Advising Task Force
  14. Serve as a member of the College Internal User Group
  15. Complete other duties as needed and/or assigned by the Director, AVP of Adult and Graduate Education, and Academic Dean

 

Education, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements

 Master Degree required
