Service Opportunities in Honors
Every semester, members of the Honors Program are expected to meet at least one of three Honors Requirements
When performing Community Service to meet an Honors Requirement, a student may also take an Honors Seminar or work on a Fellowship, but is not obligated to for that semester. To fulfill the service requirement, the student must partake in one full year (90 hours) of service. This service does not count as academic credit and will not contribute to the minimum credits required for Honors students.
Students have to clear their community service with one of the faculty leaders of the Honors Society, but are generally given free reign in what sort of service they may perform. All members have the option to serve as mentors to the John G. Carlisle Elementary in nearby Covington, KY where there is a Tutoring/Mentoring Program.
