Student Activities and Events
Proper safety and a vibrant campus life will co-exist at Thomas More. In an effort to do this, all student-facing activities will be approved through Student Life and provided with guidelines and supplies necessary to hold a
safe event. All student groups (clubs, student leaders, student organizations, etc.) must follow these guidelines as required by Student Government Association and Student Life. All staff and faculty areas hosting non-class events for students will also follow these guidelines. Events open to the public must be approved two weeks in advance by the area vice president.
We have invested in outdoor spaces to enable flexibility, ensure social distance, and provide students with opportunities to safely gather. The Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel amphitheater will be used for classes. The space outside the Villa will be tented for additional dining and gathering space. Outdoor furniture has been added across campus, and we have improved our outdoor WiFi for students to continue their course work and activities outdoors.
The Athletic Department will follow all guidelines put in place by the University to take every precaution to keep the community safe. The University has protocols in place (and is continuing to update protocols) based on information and guidelines given from the University and our sports medicine team, the Mid-South Conference, the NAIA, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), state and local health officials, and the Governor of Kentucky. The athletic department will stay up to date with protocols and expects all student-athletes to be mindful that their actions may have an impact upon others in our community.
