Together We Will Remain Healthy at Thomas More (january 19, 2021)
Dear Thomas More Community,
The number of positive Covid cases declined from 25 to start the first week of the spring semester to 10 as of this morning. We currently have 37 individuals in quarantine and 9 of those individuals are residing on-campus. Again, these numbers are lower than what was reported last week. Both the number of positive Covid cases and the number of individuals in quarantine are in the Low Alert Threshold. This is certainly welcomed news, but we must not drop our guard. We must continue to be diligent and mindful that the number of Covid cases continues to increase across the region, though we are seeing signs of decline in these numbers as well.
As the Governor of Kentucky announced the vaccine schedule, we are working closely with his office and St. Elizabeth Healthcare to ensure the University’s participation in the program. We expect in the coming weeks that a detailed vaccine plan and timeline will be announced for the University.
I would encourage you to read through Healthy at Thomas More for our policies and procedures for the spring semester. Please remember to wear your mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands regularly. We all have a responsibility to keep one another and the entire community safe. I encourage you to check your email and the University website on a regular basis for additional information.
Thank you for your continued attention to the safety and well-being of our community; please continue to do your part in keeping yourself, your family, and our community healthy and safe.
Best, President Chillo
