AMANDA BOWMAN

Sophomore Biology Major and Chemistry Minor
Thomas More College

Amanda will be a junior in the fall semester at Thomas More College. She is majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. She will be working at the field station this summer as a work-study as serve as a mentor during the STEM camp. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her horses, playing soccer, and volunteering. Currently her long-term goal is to join the Peace Corps after graduating and helping under privileged children.


CRISTI FARWICK

Senior, Chemistry and Mathematics Major
Thomas More College

Cristi is a senior Chemistry and Mathematics double-major. At TMC, she is the treasurer of Theta Phi Alpha Fraternity, a sprinter for the track team, and the work-study student for the chemistry department. In her free time, she enjoys coaching boxing and gymnastics and doing anything outdoors. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to further her Chemistry degree.


ZACKARY FRIES

Junior, Environmental Science Major
Thomas More College

Zackary is a junior at Thomas More College majoring in Environmental Science. He is currently involved in several organizations and clubs at Thomas More College. One of the clubs he is in is the Blue and Green Club which focuses on the environment. During his free time, he likes to go outside and enjoy the view of nature that surrounds him. With his major in Environmental Science, he plans to use it to help the environment through the look at different perspectives on the issues that are present.


KRISTIN GIBSON

Junior, Biology Major, Marine Biology Track
Thomas More College

Kristin is a Junior Marine Biology major at Thomas More College. She is looking forward to perusing an internship during the spring of 2017 at the Newport Aquarium. Kristin also plays clarinet for TMC Marching Saints. Kristin plans on a career as a field marine biologist.


KATRINA HLEBICZKI

Senior, Mathematics and Middle and Secondary Education
Thomas More College

Katrina is a Senior at Thomas More majoring in Mathematics and Middle and Secondary Education. This summer will be her third year as a STEM camp mentor for high school students and a NASA STEM Fellow. Katrina also ran for and served as a captain of Thomas More Women’s track and field and cross country teams this year while remaining active on campus as a Resident Assistant and Student Life Ambassador. Currently, her long term goals include teaching in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area and obtaining her masters and doctoral degrees. She aspires to one day coach as well as teaching on the collegiate level.


KRISTAFER HOWARD

Junior Biology Major-Concentration in Organismic Biology
Thomas More College

Kris is a senior Biology major with a concentration in Marine Biology. Last summer, Kris conducted a marine fisheries research project in Belize with professors from NKU and will be returning to collect additional data this summer. He is a member of the Biology club and a sprinter for the Thomas More track team. In his free time enjoys fishing and just being outdoors. After graduating from Thomas More, he would like to attend graduate school to further his education in Marine Biology. Kris is excited to spend his first summer working and living at the Field Station.


BRANDI HUNTER

Senior, Biology Major
Thomas More College

Brandi is a senior biology major at Thomas More College. She is a member of Tri-Beta, the National Honor Society for Biology students.   She is also a defender for the women’s soccer team, and on the lacrosse team. In her free time she likes to be outdoors.  Her future goals are to go to graduate from Thomas More and continue her education at PA school. Â Â  Brandi was a mentor last year and is looking forward to it again this year.


JOSIE PERRINO

Senior, Forensics Chemistry Major
Thomas More College

Josie is a senior forensic chemistry major. She plays both soccer and lacrosse for Thomas More and is in the sorority, Theta Phi Alpha. When she is not doing her school work or at practice she enjoys watching Netflix and sleeping. Josie thoroughly enjoys being outside, whether it be laying out at the beach, hiking, camping, tubing, wakeboarding, or snowboarding.


BREE PLAPP

Junior, Biology Major, Marine Biology Track
Thomas More College

Brianna is a junior at Thomas More College and she is majoring in biology aiming toward the marine track. This will be her second year mentoring at Stem Camp. She has been interested in marine sciences since fourth grade and has always had a love for the ocean. She plans on getting her scuba diving license this summer. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, hiking, and playing soccer. Her plans after Thomas More include continuing her education in Marine Biology.


NATHAN RAMSEY

Senior, Environmental Science Major
Thomas More College

Nathan is a senior environmental science major at Thomas More College and will serve as a collections curator and environmental educator this summer at the TMC Field Station. He will also serve as a work-study student, and supporting other internships when necessary. He enjoys fishing and collecting freshwater specimens for research. Nathan intends to return to school upon graduation to get a Ph.D. in environmental science and teach college level courses while doing research on freshwater fish species and their environments.


GLENN RICE

Senior, Physics Major
Thomas More College

Glenn is a senior physics major and math minor and plans on graduating next spring. This will be his third summer serving as a STEM camp mentor. He is an active member of the Thomas More community, as he is part of the Math and Physics Club and the Business Society among others. After graduation, he plans on going to graduate school to study either marine engineering or applied physics. In his free time he enjoys anything outdoors, especially baseball, fishing, and skiing.


ABBY STADTMILLER

Junior, Middle and Secondary Math Education Major
Thomas More College

Abby will be a junior this coming fall at Thomas More College majoring in Middle and Secondary Math Education with a double minor in math and theology. This will be her first year mentoring for the STEM summer camp. She is a NASA STEM Fellow and she is a member of the women’s soccer team at Thomas More. In her free time, she loves to be outside or spending time with her family. She plans to pursue a job as a middle school or high school math teacher in the Northern Kentucky area after graduation.


LANE TAUL

Senior, Biology Major, Chemistry and Computer Science Minor
Thomas More College

Lane is a senior at Thomas More College who is studying Biology as well as Chemistry and Computer Science. He serves the Thomas More Field Station as a work-study student on the maintenance crew. This is also his second summer as a STEM camp mentor. He has always enjoyed the outdoors and in his spare time often goes fishing, hunting, and hiking. After graduating from Thomas More, he plans to continue his education, focusing in Aquatic/Marine Biology.


TERESA URBAN

First-Year, Environmental Science
Thomas More College

Teresa is an incoming first-year student at Thomas More College. This is her first year as a Student Mentor but not the first time she has attend the STEM Camp. “T” looks forward to another great summer camp and hopes that others get as much out of the program as she did since it was a major part of her decision to study at TMC. She plans to major in Environmental Science and help educate others about the world around us. She loves the outdoors and wants to work on field research programs in the near future.
