Scholarships
Scholarships are available for Theatre majors. Amounts vary – generally in the range of $1000 to $5000 - and are renewable for four years.
To apply, contact the Theatre Department for more details. In brief, candidates would need to submit a letter of recommendation from a high school drama coach or teacher and a resume of theatrical experience (with performance and technical credits.) An audition and interview with the Theatre faculty is also required. Since you won’t emphasize in acting, the audition is only a part of what is looked at in awarding the scholarships. The interview is to make sure that the Theatre program is a good fit for you, as well as you being a good fit for the program at Thomas More.
Deadline to apply is March 1st. Auditions/Interviews are generally held in March – with awards made by the end of March. But, you can contact the Department after that time as well, as there is sometimes grant money still available as the school year begins.
Awards can only be made to students who have been accepted to Thomas More College. Recipients must major in Theatre as a full-time student and participate actively in the Theatre program, while making satisfactory progress within the program.
