Field Trips
Thomas More College has a tradition of involving local schools in educational programs. Science faculty often visits area classrooms to provide hands-on presentations. Furthermore, the Biology Field Station offers an interactive setting where students become actively involved in doing science.
Recently the Biology faculty has offered several professional development workshops for science teachers from the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area. Each summer typically over 70 elementary and middle school teachers participate in these workshops. Additional workshops, as well as a week-long boat trip up the Ohio River is being offered through the Field Station during the summer months.
Lastly, throughout the months of March-June, our students develop and conduct hands-on science activities during field trips made by local schools. Each year over 40 schools and 1,000 students typically visit the station. Additional opportunities for both field trips and workshops will be available for this summer. Please contact the appropriate personnel or fill out the appropriate forms to reserve your spot.
