Mr Van Laningham grew up in Indiana and earned a B.S. in Math and Computer Science in 1973 at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. A year later he earned a M.S. in Math from Rose. For the next 27 years he worked as a Programmer/Analyst in a number of industries including shipbuilding, military simulation, and metal buildings manufacture. Over the last 16 years he has taught a number of math subjects (Algebra, Statistics, Calculus, Informal Geometry) as an adjunct instructor at Thomas More, Mount St Joseph and Raymond-Walters College. At the age of 51 he returned to school to work on a Masters of Art in Teaching (MAT) at Northern Keetucky University, which he just recently received. Mr Van Laningham has been a traditional full time student and a non-traditional part time working student, so he understands the demands of today's students.
