Government Information

STAT-USA and USA Trade Online are only available on the Research Terminals in the Reference area of the TMC Library.

- Do you work in a business looking for new markets to sell your products or services?
- Are you trying to gauge the direction of the economy to make a financial decision?
- Are you looking for information about doing business in foreign countries for your International Marketing class?
- Is your trade association looking for services to offer its members?
- Is the state Economic Development Agency you work for trying to assist local businesses grow and prosper to help reduce unemployment in your community?

If your answer to any of these questions is YES then STAT-USA and USA Trade Online can help you!

STAT-USA, an agency in the Economics and Statistics Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce has the answers to many of the above questions and more. Our job is to deliver vital economic, business, and international trade information produced by the US Government to you so you can make an important decision that may affect your business, your career, your community, or your personal finances.

Information you may need is produced by hundreds of separate offices and divisions of the government. It is almost impossible for individuals to find out what is available, much less obtain it and use it. STAT-USA does that for you. Our mission is to scour the government information vaults, assemble that information in one location, and deliver it to you using the most advanced computer technologies available.

STAT-USA has collaborated with the Foreign Trade Division of the US Census Bureau to create USA Trade Online, where you can find specific US export and import information on more than 18,000 commodities world wide.
