Coordinator of Intramural Sports

This part time position will officiate intramural individual and team sports. Plan, promote, schedule, supervise, and evaluate intramural programming consisting of team sports, team tournaments, individual sports and tournaments, and special events. Participate in rotating coverage of duty. Responsible for performing duty as assigned and listed on the duty schedule. Respond as needed to emergency situations.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all student participants, league populations and student organizations; manage equipment and facility responsibilities; coordinate and lead team captains, and intramural manager meetings.
  • Lead managers meetings
  • Conduct assessments of current intramural programming and policies
  • Establish relationships with the students
  • Respond to phone calls and emails
  • Prepare and compile end of semester reports
  • Set up equipment for all activities
  • Oversee the intramural sports contest and ensure participation takes place in a safe manner
  • Complete necessary paperwork
  • Prepare flyers, registration forms, rules, policies, and schedules
  • Collaborate with other departments on campus to better serve Thomas More students
  • Participate in rotating coverage of duty. Responsible for performing duty as assigned and listed on the duty schedule
  • Respond as needed to emergency situations when on duty
  • Be available to support staff in enforcing housing and campus policies while on duty
  • Keep supervisor and RLC of potential and/or occurring situations. Ensure proper follow-up
  • Interact effectively with emergency personnel
  • Serve as primary advisor to NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary)

Education, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements

Bachelor Degree required
Higher education experience preferred
