Thomas More College has a long history and strong reputation for athletic excellence in both men’s and women’s sports. Thomas More’s NCAA Division III teams regularly compete in post-season play and rank high in national standings. In order to grow the athletic programs, as well as offer our facilities for use to the community, Thomas More must enhance the current athletic facilities.

The critical need to expand and enhance the current athletic field was identified as part of a process that began in the fall of 2003. A committee of faculty, administrators, and trustees prepared a prioritized list of capital projects that were consistent with the mission and the strategic plan.

As a member of the Presidents’ Athletic Association (PAC) it is imperative that Thomas More have a state of the art facility comparable to other conference institutions. The current natural turf playing surface on the football field cannot withstand the volume of play, let alone use by other sports teams or activities. Currently the men’s and women’s soccer teams must play home games off-site at a sports complex in Wilder, Kentucky. With a growing athletics program, Thomas More could expand to include other sports such as track & field, giving current and potential students new opportunities. A new multi-sport athletic complex on campus will make this possible.
