The Bank of Kentucky Commits $1 Million Gift to Name New Athletic Field

Thomas More College and The Bank of Kentucky announced a naming rights agreement for the new athletic field on campus. The Bank of Kentucky committed $1 million to the project, which will be named The Bank of Kentucky Field. This leadership gift kicks off the fundraising campaign for the Thomas More College Athletic Complex Project.

“The Bank of Kentucky has been a community partner with Thomas More College for many years, supporting our vision for growth” said Sister Margaret Stallmeyer, President of Thomas More College. “We are extremely proud and honored to partner with an institution that shares the College’s commitment to higher education and the Northern Kentucky community.”

The renovation of Thomas More’s athletic field will provide greater opportunities for current students, future students and the community. The expansion and enhancement of the current athletic field and facilities will provide greater opportunities for current students, future students and the community.

“The Bank of Kentucky has always placed a priority on supporting the educational institutions in the Northern Kentucky community,” said Robert W. Zapp, President and CEO of The Bank of Kentucky. “We are especially pleased to have the opportunity to partner with Thomas More College in developing their new athletic field and feel it will be a wonderful addition to our region.”

The project includes the installation of synthetic turf with a running track. The new building will include: concessions, new restroom facilities, new grandstands with locker and weight rooms underneath for the football and soccer team. The current football field is made of natural turf which cannot withstand the volume of play needed for the football team, let alone by other athletic teams, or other organizations outside Thomas More College. The completion of the Athletic Complex Project will allow home games to be played on campus. In addition, it will free up necessary space in Connor Convocation Center for use by other athletic teams, as well as an enlarged exercise facilities for students and the community.
