FYS Scholars

FYS students are required to do a final speech presentation in their classes. Most instructors have students write a research paper and present that paper to the class during the last week/finals week in lieu of a final exam.

At the end of the fall semester, the instructors will be asked to submit the name of a student who will represent his/her class at the FYS Scholar Presentations, which are part of Thomas More Birthday Week (the first week in February).

One student from each class will present his/her research findings in the Science Lecture hall. This presentation is open to the entire campus community and we urge you to come and support your student as they present.

Some instructors have their class vote on who will represent them at the Symposium while other instructors choose for themselves. Each student who is selected to be an FYS SCHOLAR is given a certificate of appreciation and a gift from the bookstore as a reward for their efforts.
