Prepare Your Path

At Thomas More College, we offer a two-year Associates degree in Exercise Science designed to prepare students for entry-level placement in positions that relate to sports medicine, rehabilitation, wellness and fitness. Americans are becoming more conscious of the importance of a steady regimen of exercise to improve health, attitude and overall quality of life. As a result, there is currently a demand for more trainers or exercise physiologists.

After completing the Associates Degree in Exercise Science, as well as a Bachelors Degree in another field, the student may plan to enter a Masters Degree program for the purpose of qualifying for advanced levels of professional opportunities.

Degree Requirements

Requirements for Major (Associate Degree):

  • Exercise Science (14 hours): ESC 285, 286, 287, 288, 289
  • Supporting courses (27 hours): BIO 211, 212; CHE 103, 104, 105, 106 or 220, 221, 240, 241; PSY 105; CSC 111; BUA 316; BIO 215 or equivalent

Where Do You Belong?

Programs in exercise and physical training are becoming more prevalent in schools, health clubs and corporations. The following are just some of the career possibilities that a degree in Exercise Science can prepare you for:

  • Personal Trainer
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation Assistant
  • Wellness Director
  • Group Fitness Instructor

An Associates degree in Exercise Science can also prepare you for further studies in a number of diverse fields, such as Athletic Training.
