Alternatives Avoiding Copyright

The following is a list of sites and resources for the Thomas More community. This list was compiled to give the community additional options to view and listen to media without violating copyright. Please use all in accordance to their own restrictions and follow the Thomas More copyright policy.

Music

Pandora Radio- Pandora is a music streaming service for your phone or your computer. You can create a radio station based on artists, songs, genres and more.

Spotify- Spotify is a music, podcast, and video streaming service. You can access it for free on both your mobile device and your desktop.

Freemusicarchive.org- The Free Music Archive is an interactive library of high-quality, legal audio downloads.

Souncloud.com- SoundCloud is an online audio distribution service that enables its users to upload, record, promote, and share their originally-created sounds.

Iheart.com- iHeartRadio is an Internet radio platform that functions both as a music recommender system and as a radio network.

Amazon.com- Prime Music is a benefit of an Amazon Prime Membership, featuring a growing selection of 2 million songs, always ad-free and on-demand.

Jango.com- Jango is a free online music streaming service that allows users to create and share custom radio stations. Users choose artists to stream and the station plays music from similar artists.

Google Play Store- You can access 35 million songs and unlimited radio on the Google Play Store.

Jamendo- On Jamendo Music, you can enjoy a wide catalog of more than 500,000 tracks shared by 40,000 artists from over 150 countries all over the world. You can stream all the music for free, download it and support the artist.

SoundClick- SoundClick is a music-based social community. Songs can be streamed, downloaded in MP3 format, sold through the store, or licensed to others.

BeSonic- BeSonic.com is a platform for free music and procreation promotion. Founded in 1999, it advanced to one of the most successful music-download platforms on the Internet.

Audio Archive- This Audio Archive library contains recordings ranging from alternative news programming, to Grateful Dead concerts, to Old Time Radio shows, to book and poetry readings, to original music uploaded by our users.

Apple Music- Apple Music is a music-streaming service, developed by Apple Inc. Users select music to stream to their device on-demand, or they can listen to existing, curated playlists. This service also includes the Internet radio station Beats 1, that broadcasts live to over 100 countries, 24 hours a day, and the blog platform Connect, that allows artists to share their posts, photos, videos, and tracks with subscribers.

Spinrilla- Listen to music offline, create playlists, share music with your friends, and so much more with the Spinrilla mobile app. Spinrilla is an application that allows users to upload their mixtapes on a publicly accessible page provided by the company to populate the track and allow others to listen.


Video

YouTube- YouTube operates as one of Google's subsidiaries. The site allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to favorites, report and comment on videos, subscribe to other users. Available content includes video clips, TV show clips, music videos, short and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailers and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos.

Redbox- Redbox Automated Retail, LLC is an American company specializing in DVD, Blu-ray, and video game rentals via automated retail kiosks.

Khan Academy- Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan with a goal of creating an accessible place for people to be educated. The organization produces short lectures in the form of YouTube videos.

NBC.com- NBC TV Network is a site and Television channel that has shows that are free to play but are not shown in "live" form. The user has free access to the site and its programs whenever on WI-FI or using data.

ABC.com- The ABC Television Network. You can even watch episodes when you click on the tab at the top of the screen.

CBS.com- CBS is a Website and Tv program provider which allows the user to experience their favorite shows on the channel. Watch live episodes or episodes made years ago.

PBS.org- The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is an American public broadcaster and television program distributor. PBS is an independently operated, non-profit organization and is the most prominent provider of television programming to public television stations in the United States.

Vudu.com- Rent, buy, or watch for free. Vudu is an online movie website where you can access movies to buy and ship to your home or you can even watch the movies for free off the website via Vudu for You. After signing up for Vudu, you're able to access thousands of movies at your fingertips.

Netflix.com- Netflix is a streaming service that allows their customers to watch a wide variety of award-winning TV shows, movies, documentaries and more on thousands of Internet-connected devices. With Netflix, you can enjoy unlimited viewing of their content without having to watch a single commercial.

Hulu.com- Watch premium original series, full seasons of hit shows, current episodes, movies and more.

Vimeo.com- Vimeo is a video-sharing website in which users can upload, share and view videos.

History Channel- History channel online allows you to stream programs based all on history. Using this website you can learn for school or entertain your historic curiosities by clicking and searching. History channel can help you enjoy learning and at the same time provide information to you that you might not have known before. No subscriptions required so enjoy with no charge.

Flicker.com- Flickr is an image hosting and video hosting website and web services suite that was created by Ludicorp in 2004 and acquired by Yahoo on March 20, 2005. In addition to being a popular website for users to share and embed personal photographs, and effectively an online community, the service is widely used by photo researchers and by bloggers to host images that they embed in blogs and social media.

Freeimages.com- Galleries of photos which are not copy written are available for you to download. Scroll through a number of different albums and folders to find the perfect presentation or background picture.

Pixabay.com- Pixabay.com is an international website for sharing high quality public domain photos, illustrations, vector graphics, and film footage. As of September 2016, Pixabay offers over 750,000 free photos, illustrations, and vectors and 3,100 videos.

Pdpics.com- PDPics.com is a repository of free public domain pictures. All images have been clicked by their in-house photographers.

Unsplash.com- Unsplash is a website and app where you can use, copy, modify, and distribute images for free without asking for permission from the photographer.
