Saints open fall season

ADA, OH - Three Thomas More golfers, led by Carley Oaks, competed in the Ohio Northern Invitational.

     Oaks finished 53rd with a score of 52-62-114, while Jennifer Farley shot a 62-58-120 and Molly Jendzio finished with a 73-68-141.

     Thomas More will compete in the Wilmington Invitational at Majestic Springs G.C.

Lamendola leads TMC in PAC

WEST MIDDLESEX, PA - Tyneesha Lamendola completed her best round of the season, carding a 147 as Thomas More wrapped up its first season at the Presidents' Athletic Conference championships at the Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, PA.

     The championships were cut a round short due to rain.

     Teri Morris was one stroke back with a 148, while Katie Raverty and Ali Denton posted a 152 and 170, respectively.

Saints compete in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, OH - For the second consecutive tournament, the Thomas More women's golf team improved on the second day of a tournament. The Saints carded a 27-shot upgrade in the second day of the Wilmington Spring Invitational, and finished eighth of eight teams.

     Molly Jendzio led the way with a 137-128-266, and was followed by Teresa Weichold at 154-149-303. Katie Raverty was the next Thomas More golfer, carding a 163-148-311; Tyneesha Lamedola was next with a 158-154-312; and Teri Morris wrapped up the TMC scoring with a 157-157-314.

     Thomas More will conclude its season at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship in West Middlesex, PA.

Improvements Mark Wittenberg Invite

SPRINGFIELD, OH - Every Thomas More women's golfer that finished it round, carded improvements over their first match as the Saints finished 13th of 13 schools in the Wittenberg Spring Invitational.

     Teri Morris (67-64-131) was the first Thomas More golfer, and marked a 28 stroke improvement over her first match of the season. In her first match of the season, Molly Jendzio carded a 61-71-131. Teresa Weichold (71-68-139) was next and had a 15-stroke improvement. Tyneesha Lamendola (82-70-152) had a 32-stroke improvement, while Katie Raverty (72-83-155) had a five-stroke improvement.

     Thomas More will hit the links on April 21 at the Wilmington Invitational.

Saints make Official Return

COLUMBUS, OH - The return of the Thomas More women's golf team is officially competed as Thomas More placed 14th in Capital University's Purple & White Invitational.

     Teresa Weichold was the first Thomas More Saints with a 154-155-309, while Katie Raverty was the next Saint with a 160-167-327. Teri Morris (169-159-328), Ali Denton (194-173-367) and Tyneesha Lamendola (185-185-370) all competed for Thomas More.

    The Saints will return to the course Wednesday in Danville, KY.

Women's Golf Returns to TMC

     The Thomas More athletic department announces Mark Hannahan as the new women's golf coach. The program had been dormant since 2002, but sports the school's only National Champion - Lynn Thompson.

     "We are very excited about starting a Women's Golf program here at Thomas More. We want to build on the excellent athletic tradition that exists here," Hannahan said. "This spring we began the recruitment effort and signed on four women, Jodi DeAnda, Teri Morris, Carolyn Lampman, and Jackie Poe. We had a number of very enjoyable practice sessions, and look forward to recruiting additional members next year so we can compete officially in local and conference matches during the spring season."

     Hannahan is the Assistant Golf Professional at California Golf Course, and also helps coach the St. Ursula Girl's High School Team. Mark has played golf over 40 years and brings a true love and passion for the game. He looks forward to building an excellent program here, and will work with each team member to insure they reach their maximum potential while stressing a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.

Golfer Named Nominee for Woman Athlete of the Year
Thomas More women's golfer Lynn Thompson was selected to represent all of NCAA Division III in women's golf as the golf nominee for the 2001-2002 Division III Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.

Thomas More Has Its First National Champion

For the third time in four days, Thompson shot the lowest round of the day in the final round with a five-over par 77, tying her with Rachele Miller of Mary-Hardin.
