(MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.) – Thomas More College women’s basketball senior guard Jayme Thiem (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) was named second team Preseason All-American today (Friday, October 7, 2008) by the internet Web site, D3hoops.com.

Thiem, the 2007-2008 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a third team All-American, averaged 14.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and also had 97 steals and 23 blocks helped lead the Saints to a 29-1 record and an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Thiem and the rest of the No. 7-ranked Saints will open the 2008-2009 season on Friday, November 21 when they play Greenville College at 5 p.m. in the opening game of the Centre College Tip-Off Classic in Danville, Kentucky.
