In 2008-2009 Neal directed his team to a 28-3 record and avanced to the NCAA Tournament's “Sweet 16”.

In 2007-2008, Thomas More posted an undefeated regular season (25-0) record on its way to a 29-1 overall mark and a No. 8 national ranking. The 29 victories set a new school record and Neal was named the Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year.

The Saints were 22-5 during the 2006-2007 and won a share of the PAC regular season title and earned the first berth of their current streak of four NCAA Tournament appearances.

During the 2005-06 campaign, Neal guided the Saints to a 20-8 record and the PAC Tournament Championship game. For his efforts, he was named the PAC Coach of the Year for the first time.

In 2004-05, his first year as a head coach, Neal’s Saints finished the season with a 16-9 record.

A 1991 graduate of Northern Kentucky University (NKU), Neal came to Thomas More after being an assistant coach at his alma mater for six seasons under head coach Nancy Winstel. While there, the Norse compiled a six-year win loss record of 156-36 (.813), advancing to the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship each season with the school’s first-ever national championship coming in 2000. NKU also made four appearances in the Elite Eight and two in the national championship game, with the last coming in 2003. In addition, the Norse also won four Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) regular-season titles and two GLVC tournament championships.

Prior to his stint at NKU, Neal began his coaching career with six seasons at the Division III level as an assistant at Wilmington College from 1992-98. With the Quakers, he was an assistant under head coach Jerry Scheve that posted back-to-back 20-win campaigns in his final two seasons.

Neal and his wife, Amy, reside in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, with their four children, Allison, Madison, Emma and Maxwell.
