(ATLANTA, Ga.) – Thomas More College senior guard Jayme Thiem (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) has been recognized as State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team Honorable Mention by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Friday (March 20, 2009).

Thiem was second on the team this season in scoring and rebounding as she averaged 14.1 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. She also led the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) at the free-throw line this season as she connected on 87.5 percent (123-of-144) of her shots at the line. Thiem was also second on the team and fifth in the PAC in assists as she dished out 116 assists and was first on the team in steals with 65.

Thiem and the rest of the Saints finished the season with a 28-3 record and along the way won the PAC Regular Season and Tournament titles and advanced the “Sweet 16” of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
