Blackson Named Thomas More Men's Golf Coach
(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Thomas More College Athletic Director Terry Connor announced today (Monday, July 12, 2010) that Cory Blackson has been named the new head men's golf coach.
Blackson, who is entering his third year as the Sports Information Director at the College, inherits a team that is coming off its best season in school history as it won the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship and finished tied for 22nd at the NCAA Division III Championship. He served as the assistant men's golf coach at Capital University, while also serving as the Crusaders' assistant sports information director.
"We are excited to have Cory take over the Thomas More men's golf program." commented Connor. "We are very confident that he will build upon the recent success the golf program has experienced and will help maintain our position among the conference and region's best academically and athletically."
"I appreciate the opportunity that is being provided to me by President Sister Margaret Stallmeyer and Athletic Director Terry Connor," stated Blackson. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to continue building a successful program at Thomas More that the College community will be proud of both on the golf course and in the classroom."
A native of Coshocton, Ohio, Blackson was a four-year member of the Coshocton High School team where he graduated in 1998. He then earned his bachelor's degree from Capital University in 2002. Blackson and his wife, Susan, reside in Hebron, Kentucky.
