Steimetz Named AFCA All-American

(WACO, Texas) Thomas More College junior linebacker Brad Steinmetz (West Harrison, Ind./East Central) has been named an All-American by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.

Steinmetz
, who was named first team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC), led the Saints with 92 tackles, including a team-leading 19 for a loss and also recorded seven sacks, one interception and recovered one fumble.

Steinmetz and the Saints finished the 2008 season 8-3 overall and won the PAC title with a 6-0 conference record and made the school’s third appearance in the NCAA Division III Football Championship Playoffs. (Complete All-American Team)
