Saints Compete at NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Meet
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Thomas More College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional meet today (Saturday, November 14, 2009) hosted by Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. The women's team finished 19th with 499 points and the men's team finished 24th with 678 points.
The womens' team was paced by freshman Alice Wallenhorst (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry), who placed 68th with a time of 26:21. Also finishing in the Top-100 was freshman Sarah Miller (Crescent, Ky./Villa Madonna) in 90th place with a time of 27.08 and freshman Celia Arlinghaus (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) in 95th place with a time of 27:15. Rounding out the Saints' runners were junior Rachel Krumpelbeck (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) in 136th place with a time of 28:50, sophomore Ashley Jordan (Shelbyville, Ky./Ohio County) in 142nd place with a time of 28:55, freshman Michelle Lonnenmann (Villa Hills, Ky./Villa Madonna) in 157th place with a time of 30:15 and freshman Amy Adams (Ashland, Ky./Paul G. Blazer) in 170th place with a time of 31:25.
On the men's side the Saints were led by frehsman Matt Lengerich (Maplewood, Ohio/Lehman Catholic), who finished 119th with a time of 31:34. Rounding out the Saints' runners were freshman Andrew Linkugel (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry) in 146th place with a time of 32:47, junior Kyle Egan (Alexandria, Ky./Holy Cross) in 154th place with a time of 33:18, freshman Shane Campbell (Walton, Ky./Walton-Verona) in 158th place with a time of 33:44, freshman Andrew Fuller (Covington, Ky./Holy Cross) in 159th place with a time of 33:57 and senior Michael Casteel (Burlington, Ky./Conner) in 174th place with a time of 47:55.
