Women Finish Third and Men Sixth at the PAC Championships
(LATROBE, Pa.) - The Thomas More College women's cross country team finished third with 104 points and the men's team finished sixth with 145 points today (Saturday, October 31, 2009) at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships hosted by Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
The women's team was paced by freshman Sarah Miller (Crescent, Ky./Villa Madonna), who placed 13th with a time of 25:48 and earned All-Conference honors. Rounding out the Saints' runners were freshman Celia Arlinghaus (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) in 15th place with a time of 26:16, freshman Alice Wallenhorst (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry) in 17th place with a time of 26:22, junior Rachel Krumpelbeck (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished 29th with a time of 27:49, freshman Amy Adams (Ashland, Ky./Paul G. Blazer) in 30th with a time of 27:59, sophomore Ashley Jordan (Shelbyville, Ky./Ohio County) in 32nd place with a time of 28:12, freshman Michelle Lonnenman (Villa Hills, Ky./Villa Madonna) in 35th place with a time of 28:42.
Freshman Matt Lengerich (Maplewood, Ohio/Lehman Catholic) led the men's team with a time of 29:23. Rounding out the Saints' runners were junior Kyle Egan (Alexandria, Ky./Holy Cross) in 29th place with a time of 31:17, freshman Shane Campbell (Walton, Ky./Walton-Verona) in 31st place with a time of 31:47, freshman Andrew Linkugel (Edgewood, Ky./St. Henry) in 34th with a time of 32:58, freshman Andrew Fuller (Covington, Ky./Holy Cross) in 36th with a time of 32:58 and senior Michael Casteel (Burlington, Ky./Conner) in 41st place with a time of 46:41.
The Saints are now idle until Saturday, November 14 when they travel to Greensboro, North Carolina to run in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III South Regional hosted by Guilford College.
