Women's Cross Country Team Finished 10th and the Men’s Team Finished 12th at Hanover Invitational

 

(HANOVER, Ind.) The Thomas More College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed today (Saturday, September 6, 2008) at the Hanover College Invitational in Hanover, Indiana.  The women’s team finished 10th and the men’s team finished 12th.

The women’s team finished with 311 points to finish 10th in the field.  Freshman Katie Metemaker (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles) paced the team as she finished 52nd with a time of 21:41.55.  She was followed by freshman Graciela Reynolds (Greenfield, Ind./Greenfield South) in 84th place in 22:52.92, sophomore Rachel Krumpelbeck (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) in 86th place in 22:57.54, freshman Christine Kues in 88th in 23:08.15 and freshman Kristina Marcelli (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) in 119th place in 28:58.47.

The men’s team finished 12th with 358 points and were only three point behind 11th place Hanover.  Junior Josh Horn (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) paced the team as he finished 89th with a time of 29:18.81.  Horn was followed by sophomore Kyle Egan (Alexandria, Ky./Holy Cross) in 103rd place n 29:50.13, freshman Sean Burgoon (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) in 110th place in 30:17.33, freshman Josh Newport (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne) in 115th place in 30:32.21, freshman Nathan Goodrich (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) in 137th place in 32:21.42 and sophomore Tom Cox (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry) in 154th place in 35:53.28.

Both team return to action on September 20 when they travel to Cedarville, Ohio to run in the Cedarville University Invitational.

Cross Country Teams Run at the Franklin Grizzly Invitational

(FRANKLIN, Ind.) The Thomas More College men’s and women’s cross country teams both competed today (Saturday, August 30, 2008) at the Franklin College Sodexo Grizzly Invitational in Franklin, Indiana.  The men’s team finished seventh and the women’s team didn’t post a team finish.

The men’s team scored 164 points and finished only three points out of sixth place.  Junior Josh Horn (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) paced the team as he finished 16th with a time of 28:39.79.  He was followed by sophomore Kyle Egan (Alexandria, Ky./Holy Cross) in 28th place in 29:41.16, freshman Josh Newport (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne), freshman Sean Burgoon (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) in 51st place in 31:45.57, freshman Nathan Goodrich (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) in 53rd place in 31:58 and sophomore Tom Cox (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry) in 68th place in 34:55.65.

The women’s team had four runners compete and was led by freshman Katie Mestemaker (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles) as she finished in 14th place with a time of 21:22.89.  She was followed by sophomore Rachel Krumpelbeck (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) in 23rd place in 21:59.73, freshman Graciela Reynolds (Greenfield, Ind./Greenfield South) in 32nd place in 22:54.71 and freshman Kristina Marcelli (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) in 58th place in 28:31.31.

Both teams return to action next Saturday (September 6, 2008) when they travel to Hanover, Indiana to run in the Hanover College Invitational.
