As an environmental designer and educator, Becky Amann envisions her creative pursuits as a boundless network of enterprises with interconnected themes. Project work such as her designs for the Chicago Institute of Art on the Future of Learning exhibition, and a display comprised of history murals that are longer than a football field, fight song typography that extends to the ceiling and a 3-story trophy wall for the University of Cincinnati Lindner Center exercise her visual and spatial storytelling at its best. She is interested in humanity, juxtaposed with the divine; the body as a translation of the spirit. Her work includes two- and three-dimensional pieces that are sewn, printed, typographic, digital and hand illustrated.

She believes narrative is the basis for meaningful human communication, good art, and successful business. By focusing on design process and the essential meaning of visuals, she encourages students to use design to inform, inspire, connect and delight.

She is a native Northern Kentuckian, growing up just minutes from the Thomas More campus. She spent time in Chicago, IL, working for the founder of 'branded environments', Eva Maddox, at Perkins + Will. She lived in Detroit, MI while attending Cranbrook Academy of Art, where she experienced the artist-in-residence model of teaching. As a former Olympic athlete (10 meter platform diving, Atlanta, GA, 1996), Becky strives for and encourages the pursuit of excellence in design, academics, faith. Other interests include raising her young family, building rehabilitation and urban living.
